This world is a rough place these days, but World So Bright challenges you to discover the joys of sharing our cross-cultural experiences.
Sit with me awhile, and watch us change the world.
EXAMPLES Here you find various genres available to you for expressing your ideas: the short story, the blog, the travel journal, diary entry, and more. Wow, this is overwhelming. There are so many choices. How should I get started? Experimentation in your own writing with the various genres is a delightful process. As you read others’ works and give writing a try, you will discover your favorite genre, your style, and your voice.
WRITING TIPS Here you will find a monthly or a series of writing tips on effective nonfiction writing, especially for the genre of creative nonfiction. Should you share your opinion or express emotion in your writing? Watch this area for the answer.
CULTURE TOPICS Here you will find a pdf of a culture lesson which you may use for interviewing others and for improving your English (for our international friends). Audio support is included for both listening and speaking practice. May I copy these pdf documents? Feel free to copy the lessons for your personal and/or ESL classroom use.
DEFINITIONS Here you will find definitions related to the art of writing stories of culture. May I send you a definition that I’ve written up? Sure, if you have a definition you think should be included, I welcome you to send it along via email at lori@worldsobright.org.
Again, I welcome you to be part of the World So Bright Community. I’m happy to consult with you on your project, critique your work, and receive your submissions of WRITING or ARTWORK to be included on the website. For each submission posted on World So Bright, a donation of $20 is given to Vision Trust, my designated charity.
I look forward to the day that we have so many nations and cultures represented that we include an interactive MAP!
With love,
