“Culture”

Culture can be considered the complex system of knowledge, belief, art, morals, customs, and habits of individuals as a member of a society(1)

Any aspect of culture may:

-be learned and reinforced by the community surrounding the individual
-take on a unique nuance at a particular time in history
-be tied to the language used to express it
-be subject to change
-be greatly affected by major events and outside forces of politics, media, and consumerism
