“cultural artifact”

A cultural artifact is any object made by a human which gives us information about the creator or the user. Virtually, everything we use each day is a cultural artifact. There are both ancient-day and present-day artifacts. Interestingly, we use tools (artifacts) to create products (more artifacts). Archaeologists dig up ancient artifacts but, our houses are full of them. Pick up a dish, a toy, a pen and think about the importance it may play in the expression of what you find meaningful. World travelers can’t help themselves; the souvenirs they bring back in their suitcases represent the people on some level, either superficially or sentimentally.
