Announcing the complete Short Story Collection

This four-year journey to collect our family’s expatriate experience  is complete. MONGOLIAN INTERIOR: An Expatriate Experience is now available on amazon.com in paperback and eBook. Consider buying some for Christmas gifts for your culture-loving-family member.

Our family lived in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (Central Asia) from 1995-2000. Yet, it was only recently that I experimented with the short story format to capture the essence of  our memories. For some, I played the role of a ghost writer, taking on my children’s point of view. Peter, Joanna, and Mary went with us to the ends of the earth and came out better for it.

I dedicate the book to the friends who supported us financially during those years and to those who helped me write and rewrite and rewrite until the stories “spoke” with a narrative arc of the Acculturation Process.

In the writing was discovering the true essence of our collective experience. In the writing process was healing.  In the writing there has been JOY in remembering the other HOME God gave to us.

Last, enormous thanks to LAUREL SPRENGER, my illustrator who brought COLOR and LIGHT to my memories.
